Community Make Space is an independent, artist-run studio—not a nonprofit. Gifts made through this page are not tax-deductible, but they make an immediate difference in helping us rebuild, care for shared tools, and keep creative opportunities accessible.

There are many ways to support the studio. Every act of generosity—whether it’s sharing your time, contributing creative materials, or offering financial support—helps keep this space open for making, learning, and gathering.

Good to Know

  • Community Make Space is an independent, artist-run studio—not a nonprofit—so gifts are not tax-deductible. Your support goes directly toward keeping the studio open and sustaining creative programs for our community

  • Your gift helps sustain Community Make Space and makes it possible to offer free and low-cost community programming alongside our workshops and classes.

  • Yes—donated materials are often welcome, especially printmaking paper, bookbinding thread and needles, bone folders, self healing cutting mats, scissors, and other tools in good working condition.

    If you’re unsure whether something is a good fit, feel free to reach out before bringing it by. We try to accept what we can use or responsibly pass along.

  • Yes. Volunteer opportunities are organized through our local mutual aid hub, Marshall Relief Alliance.

    Specimen Book Project is our ongoing flood recovery project. Volunteers are welcome to join us every Friday from 12-2. To register, please follow the link below and enter “MHS Studio 101 - Community make space: clean equipment & type” as your preferred project.
