Community Make Space is the place founder and studio coordinator Trish Marshall imagined for herself: an affordable, light-filled studio with shared tables, good tools, flat files, lockers, generous teachers, and a community of people deeply engaged in creative practice. A welcoming place where people could follow their questions and curiosities, immerse in meaningful work, share discoveries, learn from one another, and return again and again to work in progress.

Originally envisioned as a collaborative book arts studio, Community Make Space has grown into a welcoming home for creative practice. Housed in a light-filled historic building on Blannahassett Island in downtown Marshall, the studio offers shared tables, tools, and space to pursue independent creative work alongside others. Workshops with visiting artists bring new ideas, techniques, and perspectives into the studio throughout the year, inviting exploration of traditional and experimental approaches to materials and encouraging creative exchange.

Community Make Space offers weekly and monthly recurring gatherings, studio memberships, volunteer opportunities, pop-ups, and community collaborations. These offerings are designed to support creative practice, create opportunities for connection, and provide space for learning, experimentation, and continued growth.
